Shane is currently the Chief Digital Officer at the Australian Skills Quality Authority. He has extensive experience in digital transformation, business operations modelling and service design across a number of government agencies and departments. This has seen Shane deliver a number of high-quality outcomes across the Australian Public Service and he is now applying his skills and experience to shape the regulatory environment, through digital enablement, across Australia’s Vocation Education and Training sector.
Complementing Shane’s over 12 years’ experience in digital leadership is his Master of Business Administration, majoring in Digital Transformation and postgraduate qualifications in leadership and public sector management.

The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) as the national VET regulator is embarking on a multi-year transformation journey that will help shape and drive how it will regulate the VET sector, particularly in light of the upcoming implementation of the revised Standards for RTOs and the current government approach to VET sector integrity.
Join Shane Worthington, ASQA’s Chief Digital Officer as he discusses the transformation program underway, including the importance of data, information and intelligence and how new digital systems will enable better regulatory decision making. Shane will also discuss the importance of co-design with the sector and building for the end-user and will explore how AI will bring productivity gains, not just to the Regulator, but to the Sector and the economy more broadly.
