Tackling the future, building the workforce we need
Friday | 14 March 2025 | 11:55 AM – 12:30 PM
This presentation will explore what the world of work and the workforce of the future may look like. What do we already know about the changing landscape? Are we prepared for 2030, let alone 2050? What we can be confident of is that the level of change will be considerable and continuous? How do we aim to be a competitive and sustainable economy, with inclusive and thriving communities in the midst of this change? What do we need to consider for our education and training system to help prepare for these challenges?
This presentation will look at some of the current reforms underway and examine how they will better prepare us for the future. Consideration will be given to what additional reforms may be required, especially in the context of the prevalence of AI and other technological advances. An analysis of the current labour market and examination of emerging trends will ground the presentation and enable consideration of the key pillars for building a fit-for-purpose adaptive education and training system.
